SHILLONG, OCT 23: Three Liberation of Achik Elite Force (LAEF) militants were arrested and later the police busted the camp of the outfit in a remote village in North Garo Hills district after the three revealed the location.
Acting on tip off, police immediately launched an operation in the areas of West Garo Hills District following the arrest of the three cadres, a senior police official said here.
The three have been identified as Batchan G Momim of Mangsang Damboatresa, Selbanush A Sangma of Upper Sara Awe and Sengjra Marak of Upper Chima Impel, the police officer said.
The police officer said following interrogation of the trios, police busted the camp having about 25 militants mostly armed with AKs in Bangsi Bokda, about 120 km from Tura, the district headquarters.
According to police sources, the camp was under the supervision of the outfit’s C-in-C Mathew G Momin and his aide Rawan Basumatary. Meanwhile, the three have been remanded to 10 days police custody.- By Our Reporter
