Bomb attack in Tura

SHILLONG, JAN 11: Suspected militants lobbed a crude bomb in Hawakhana, Tura in West Garo hills district damaging two public vehicles on Saturday evening.  Two militants on a two wheeler came to Hawakhana, at around 5.40 pm and lobbed a crude bomb which exploded damaging the public vehicles which were parked near a petrol pump, police said.

West Garo hills district SP Mukesh Singh said, “We are still clueless on the motive behind the sudden attack.”  On being asked, he said the police are yet to confirm whether the A’chik National Volunteer Council (ANVC-B) or any other outfit is behind the bomb attacked.

Singh said investigation is on and operation are on to nab those involved in the incident.- By Our Reporter
