DC warns of fake letters

SHILLONG, OCT 19: South West Garo hills deputy commissioner Ram Singh has warned people, particularly the unemployed youths, not get swayed by a fraudulent letter being circulated in and around the district with the assurance of providing employment to the unemployed and village development schemes.

Some fraudsters under the nomenclature of  Gramin Shiksha & Gram Vikas Pariyojna, claiming to be rural public service organization, had been circulating the letter to the unsuspecting villagers, stating that their village has been selected under the scheme and that every gram pradhan/sarpanch (village head) should select five male and female each from their village.

A fake application form is also being circulated along with the letter for the “prospective candidates”.

The letter also states that the application form of each applicant should be sent along with DD of Rs. 750 “within 15 days on receipt of the letter”. The application form instructs the candidates to send the draft in favour of Ganesh Sales payable at Delhi, while at the same time directing the application form and registration fee to be sent to one Arun Kumar, Kethal Gate, Post-Chandausi, Pin-244412

The district administration has got hold of the copies of the fake letter and the application and has also warned the public not to be swayed by the letter and its false assurances and to report the matter to the Deputy Commissioner if they receive such letters.

Meanwhile, the SP R Muthu has begun enquiry into the matter and all attempts are being made to nab the persons responsible for circulating the letter.- By Our Reporter
