SHILLONG, DEC 29: Superintendent of Police (SP) East Khasi Hills District, Davis NR Marak today informed that the extra security deployment has been made for the New Year’s eve around the Shillong city.
In a statement issued here on Friday, the SP also exhorts revelers to desist from drinking and driving.
Informing that Alco meters have been issued to all Thanas and Traffic Branches, Marak said that Nakas will be set up around Shillong town to check drunken driving and other nuisance.
“Citizens are advised to abide by the Supreme Court Order and desist from playing loud music after 10:00 P.M. Revelers are advised to designate drives who do not drink or drink within the permissible limits,” he said.
Meanwhile, the SP also wishes everyone a prosperous “New Year” and urged people to please stay safe on the roads.By Our Reporter
