Jowai, August 12 : A lady drugs-peddler and eight drug-users were apprehended with a brown-sugar carefully packed in three containers worth Rs 24, 000 by the members of two ngos and the Dorbar Shnong from Khliehtyrshi village in West Jaintia hills district.
The woman has identified as Lang Dkhar from Khliehtyrshi.
“Acting on tip off, we have apprehended Dkhar from her residence while she was still selling the drug to the eight drug users”, HNPF Jaintia Circle president Lone K Laloo told reporters.
He said, “After questioning, Dkhar revealed that she has been selling drugs for last three years with the support of lady from Shillong who supplies to the area and also Ladrymbai”.
Laloo informed after they were tipped off FKJGP and HNPF members with the support of the Dorbar Shnong of Khliehtyrshi had laid a trap and caught the nine persons red-handed on Sunday.
Laloo informed that Dkhar has also revealed the names of three hardcore drugs peddlers operating in the district and the organizations are now looking for them.
The drug peddler and the eight drug users have been handed over to the Jowai Police Station for legal actions. Laloo informed, “A case has been jointly registered by the FKJGP, HNPF and Dorbar Shnong of Khliehtyrshi”, Laloo informed.- By Our Reporter
