SHILLONG, DEC 10: The BJP has shifted the observance of the Good Governance Day in Meghalaya to 23 from 25 December after the Meghalaya unit of its party made a request following opposition from several quarters.  “They (state party) had requested the party high command to celebrate the day on December 23 instead of December 25 and the request has been approved,” BJP national spokesperson Gopal Krishna Agarwal said.

He claimed, “We are taking care of all religious feelings.”

Meanwhile, Agarwal also clarified that the inclusion of Sanskrit is optional and it is not compulsory for the students while reacting to a query on the opposition expressed by church leaders on the National Education Policy.

Agarwal also informed that people can give their views and suggestions on the policy, which is already up in public domain.
