Govt staff can attend funeral

SHILLONG, MAY 29: The state government issued a statement that all government employees who intend to attend the funeral service of late Rev Fr Sngi on Monday are allowed to leave their offices at 12:00 pm.

Traffic arrangement: East Khasi Hills SP M Kharkrang said all light motor vehicles will park inside St Anthony’s stadium, inside Don Bosco Technical School and one side  Jacob’s Ladder, Stephan Hall, between Shillong College and St Mary’s School and at  Dhankheti Parking Lot while heavy Vehicles like buses will be parked at Iewrynghep  ground, Fire Brigade.

The route to be taken by the funeral procession is Mawlai Phudmawrie – FCI- Forest Colony – Polo – 4th Furlong – B.K. Bojoria School – Shillong College – Donbosco – Laitumkhrah Cathedral and later to the cemetery at Nongrimaw, he said.

The SP also informed that traffic will be temporarily close during the funeral procession and requested all motorists to cooperate.-By Our Reporter
