Headman assaulted by bus driver

SHILLONG, AUG 10: A driver and a conductor of the SPTS bus were arrested today for allegedly assaulting a headman of Laitumkhrah.

The incident took place at 10.20 am, when the driver identified as Michael Pyngrope (32) and conductor Kenny Paul Hynniewta (26) assaulted the headman Gordon S Bruce at Golf link, police said.

The accused persons were immediately detained and police also seized the bus (ML-01-7371). Investigation is on.
