SHILLONG, SEPT 1: Four members of the newly floated pro-Inner Line Permit (ILP) group – Hynniewtrep Youth Council (HYC) were arrested by police for filling up petrol from a city pump outlet without payment. They have been identitied as Clefaston Marbaniang (21), Kyntiewborlang Marbaniang (21), Alom Nongtyner (22), Phron Khongwir (24) all from Mawlai, East Khasi Hills SP M Kharkrang informed.
Kharkhrang said the four were arrested from a Maruti Car bearing registration number ML 05 J 7092 in Khyndailad area. According to him all are members of Hynniewtrep Youth Council(HYC).
“The four instead of paying in cash they give a receipt of the organization and they had been collecting free petrol from the same pump on earlier occasions,” Kharkhrang informed.
The vehicle they were using was also seized by the police.
A case has been registered and all the four have been remanded to three days police custody. Notably, except for one all other are school drop-outs, Kharkhrang said.- By Our Reporter
