State excels in Mumbai run

SHILLONG, JAN 16: The RUNMeghalaya team performed exceeding well at the Standard Chartered Mumbai Marathon on January 15 and all three runners of the team got podium finishes in the Marathon Early Start Category Led by coach Donkupar Kharjana out of a total of 4,191 Full Marathon participants, Tlanding Wahlang, a 37 year old farmer and father of four from Shngimawlein in Mawkyrwat district came first in his age category 35 to 40 years with a timing of 2hr 42min and second overall in the Early Start marathon.

Kresstarjune Pathaw a young college student from Nongthliew village, came third in the below 35 age category and fourth overall with a timing of 2hr 46min.

Swonding Mawlong from Shngimawlein who is 50 years old, a father of fourteen kids and grandfather two came second in his age category with a timing of 3hrs.

The runners were sponsored by PHE department of Meghalaya as Brand Ambassadors of Swachh Bharat Clean India Mission.
