SHILLONG, OCT 2: A new basketball body named ‘United Northeast Basketball Association’ was formed on Sunday at the Nehru Stadium- Guwahati represented by six (6) states and a written commitment from Sikkim.

The meeting held in conference room of ‘Assam Olympic Association’ formed the basket body for north eastern states consisting 26 members from various states of the region. The aims and objectives of this newly formed organisation are to take basketball to a more professional level in the whole region of north eastern states.

Following officials were elected for various posts.

President: Mr. Rupen Bora (Assam)

Chief Coordinator: Mr. Mukut Medhi (Assam)

Senior Vice President: Mr. Clive W. Dunai (Meghalaya)

3. Mr. Motilal Saha (Tripura)
