SHILLONG, FEB 3: The BJP in Meghalaya has lauded the Union Budget 2026-27, saying it’s a reflection of the government’s focus on growth and development.
Party spokesperson Maraiahom Kharkrang expressed gratitude to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and PM Narendra Modi for the “trail-setting” budget.
Kharkrang highlighted the government’s achievements, including steady economic growth, low inflation, and reforms in employment, agriculture, and household purchasing power.
“India’s economy has grown steadily over the past 12 years due to PM Modi’s focused decisions,” he said.
The party believes Meghalaya will benefit from the budget and central schemes, citing connectivity projects underway in the state.
Kharkrang also welcomed the India-USA trade deal, saying it will benefit both nations.
