EKH police nab four with stolen royal enfield bike

SHILLONG, OCT 14: Four persons were arrested along with a stolen royal enfield bike during a police checking operation at Mawryngkneng village in East Khasi Hills district.
During the operation, a speeding motorcycle bearing registration number AS-01-FY-0871 (Royal Enfield) was spotted around 10:30 PM, which refused to stop.
A chase ensued, and the motorcycle was later found abandoned at Mookyndur village, West Jaintia Hills.
A thorough search was conducted, leading to the apprehension of four individuals: Kleston Gympad (32), Behelden Khyriem (20), and two juveniles.
“…all are residents of Amlari Model, West Jaintia Hills who are the receivers of the stolen motorcycle were apprehended,” district police chief Vivek Syiem said in a statement issued on Tuesday.
He said one Alto Tourist bearing registration number ML-04-D-4797 and the stolen Royal Enfield motorcycle were seized by the authorities.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the motorcycle was stolen from Guwahati Pan Bazar.
Guwahati City police will be taking custody of the accused, the SP added.
