SHILLONG, JAN 24: In one of the biggest election related transfer, the state government transferred around 28 Meghalaya Civil Service (MCS) officers from different parts of the state as compliance to the guideline issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI) to ensure that officers with any type of political links are immediately transferred from their present posting so that they do not curry favours to the candidate with whom they are deemed to be close.
The Meghalaya government issued the order Wednesday night about the transfer of sixteen officers, ten on Thursday and the other two officers from the Community & Rural Development (C&RD) department had already been transferred on Tuesday.
It is learnt that some of the government departments have also written to the ECI for their approval to transfer officers who is said to have link with candidates who will be contesting the February 23 Meghalaya assembly elections.
An officer said, “By Monday the state government will, probably, get the go ahead nod from the ECI and another bulk of the officers who are deemed to be close to politicians in their respective area of transfer will be moved to other places.”

West Garo hills EAC and Gambegre BDO Aloysius Ch Marak has been transferred and posted as EAC North Garo hills district Resulbelpara. South West Khasi hills EAC and Ranikor BDO H Stalyne Diengdoh has been transferred and posted as EAC, Nongstoin, West Khasi hills district.
EAC, Nongstoin, West Khasi hills district Mardondor B Tongper has been transferred and posted as South West Khasi hills, Mawkyrwat EAC. East Khasi hills, Shillong EAC Mayborn Diengdoh has been transferred and posted as EAC, Mariang sub division.
North Garo hills district, Resubelpara EAC Dolrich BG Momin has been transferred and posted as West Garo hills district, Tura EAC. East Jaintia hills, Khliehriat EAC Clement P Mawkon has been transferred and posted as EAC of Amlarem sub division.
East Khasi hills, Shillong EAC Shanborlang Warjri has been transferred and posted as West Khasi hills district, Nongstoin EAC. Dadenggre EAC Diana Guri Sangma has been transferred and posted as East Garo hills district, Williamnagar EAC.
East Garo hills district, Williamnagar EAC Albert G Momin has been transferred and posted as EAC Dadenggre sub division. South West Garo hills district, Ampati EAC Pittingson R Sangma is transferred and posted as Dandenggre sub division EAC.
