Indo-Myanmar border security gets top priority, says DG Assam Rifles

SHILLONG, NOV 4: Director General of Assam Rifles Vikas Lakhera has emphasized the importance of maintaining security and sanctity of the Indo-Myanmar Border, preparing for contingencies, and addressing future security challenges.

He was addressing at the Assam Rifles Inspector General’s Conference 2025 which conluded at the Headquarters Directorate General Assam Rifles in Laitkor, Shillong, on Tuesday.

The conference was attended by senior officers, including Formation Commanders, Battalion Commanders, and Staff Officers.

The conference focused on enhancing the force’s capability and combat potential, with discussions on acquiring new-generation weapon systems and military equipment.

Lieutenant General Lakhera complimented the force for their professional conduct and performance under challenging circumstances, highlighting the need for continued vigilance in a volatile environment.
