Meghalaya CM inspects construction of artificial turf football ground at Amlarem

SHILLONG, NOV 10: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Monday inspected the ongoing construction of the Artificial Turf Football Ground at Ladjaplem, Amlarem, and expressed satisfaction with the steady progress of the project.

He was accompanied by the Minister of Education, Lahkmen Rymbui, along with officials from the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, the District Sports Officer (DSO), West Jaintia Hills, Shri Khroobok Passah, departmental officers, and members of the Amlarem Sub-Divisional Sports Association (ASSA).

During the visit, the Chief Minister commended the quality and design of the football ground, noting that similar modern sports infrastructures are being developed across the State under the Government’s sports promotion initiatives.

He expressed optimism that the project would be completed soon, providing opportunities for the youth of Amlarem and neighbouring areas to train and participate in organised sporting activities.

The Chief Minister also reiterated the Government’s continued commitment to encouraging sports, youth development, and community engagement, emphasising that such facilities will nurture talent and strengthen local sports culture.
