Meghalaya CM reviews implementation of FHTC, RGWSS in EJH

SHILLONG, DEC 8: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Monday reviewed the implementation of the Functional Household Tap Connections (FHTC) and Rymbai Greater Water Supply Scheme (RGWSS) implemented by the PHE Electrical Sub-Division, Rymbai in East Jaintia Hills district.
The officials also highlighted challenges faced by the sub division and apprised the Chief Minister on the progress, completion and time frame for various schemes of the department in the region.
The officials also highlighted the need of having a PHE Division in East Jaintia Hills District for successful implementation and monitoring of schemes.
The Chief Minister instructed the officials to ensure FHTCs to all anganwadi centres and schools and also stressed on the need of having greater community participation through awareness campaigns and engagement with the communities for the success of various schemes of PHE.
He also said that while development works are being carried on by different departments and ministries it is important to ensure that water sources are protected so that the developmental projects do not disturb or hamper the water source for the different PHE schemes.
