“Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan” (Healthy Women, Strong Family Campaign) a
National health and nutrition campaign jointly led by the Ministry of Health & Family
Welfare (MoHFW) and the Ministry of Women & Child Development (MoWCD), aligned with
Poshan Maah (Nutrition Month) will be launched at NEIGRIHMS on the 17 th of September,
2025. The duration of the campaign is scheduled to be from 17 th September to 2 nd October
2025.
Noted Social activist, writer and journalist, Padma Shri Patricia Mukhim has been invited as
the Chief Guest to launch the campaign in a special inaugural function at NEIGRIHMS.
Director NEIGRIHMS, Prof. (Dr.) Nalin Mehta declared that the focus of the campaign would
be on Women’s and Children’s health, Adolescent girls, Maternal health, Preventive,
Promotive, Diagnostic and Curative services. He added that NEIGRIHMS is committed to
organizing health camps in outreach areas, carry out screening for noncommunicable
diseases (such as hypertension, diabetes, obesity) and cancer (cervical, breast, oral),
anaemia, tuberculosis and so on. The campaign, he assured, would include Nutrition &
Hygiene awareness (balanced diets, menstrual hygiene), involvement of Anganwadi centres,
Lifestyle Counselling, Mental Health awareness, Blood Donation drives and other activities.
Since NEIGRIHMS has the capacity (specialists and infrastructure) to lead and support
quality screening, treatment referrals and, capacity building, he affirmed that his team
would work hand in hand with the State Government to compliment and strengthen their
efforts to ensure a successful and effective campaign.
