SHILLONG, OCT 28: Former All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) legislator from Rangsakona and younger brother of former Chief Minister Mukul Sangma, Zenith Sangma on Tuesday resigned from the AITC and rejoined the Indian National Congress (INC).
“After much thought and reflection, I have decided to resign from the post of vice president of the Meghalaya Trinamool Congress and also from the primary membership of the party with an immediate effect. This has not been an easy decision. My journey with the AITC has been filled with invaluable experiences, lessons, and memories,” Zenith said in his letter to the AITC state president Charles Pyngrope.
“Today, I feel it is the right moment for me to move on and begin a new chapter – one that aligns more closely with my personal vision and the aspirations I hold for the people I serve,” he added.
The AITC state president has accepted Zenith’s resignation.
The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has approved Zenith’s rejoining, with a letter from AICC in-charge Meghalaya Dr. A. Chellakumar informing MPCC president Vincent H Pala of the decision.
“This is to inform you that the Congress President has approved the proposal for the rejoining of Zenith Sangma into the Indian National Congress,” Dr Chellakumar said.
