SHILLONG, APR 24: The Meghalaya High Court on Monday granted ten days time to the jailed chairman of the outlawed Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) Champion R Sangma to file an affidavit-in-opposition.

In its order issued here, the High Court said, “Having regard to the submissions made and the peculiar circumstances of the case, ten days’ time is granted for filing affidavit-in-opposition.”

This was after Sangma’s counsel Sujit Dey sought for an opportunity to file an affidavit-in-opposition in this case particularly in relation to the factual aspects which the respondent seeks to dispute.
