FKJGP warns non indigenous traders

SHILLONG, JULY 27 :  The FKJGP East Khasi hills district unit president Elton Cliff Warjri  issued a warning against obstructers who tries to stop the KHADC enforcement wing from checking illegal operation of business without obtaining trade license even as it condemned the attack by a group of rampaging illegal hawkers at Iewduh on the enforcement officials.

Warjri said in a statement on Sunday, “We will sternly act against anybody who is obstructing the checking drive conducted by the council.”  According to him, the issue of checking trading license is one of top priority of the federation.

Warjri said that the FKJGP will also continue checking against such illegal trade by non-indigenous businessmen. He said  the FKJGP also extend its full support to the executive committee of the KHADC led by Ardent Basaiawmout in its move to fulfill its duties as enshrined by the sixth schedule of the Constitution of India.

The Khun Hynniewtrep National Awakening Movement (KHNAM) has also issued similar warning against those who are trying to illegally obstruct the checking drive by the KHADC.

Meanwhile, the Khasi National Union (KNU) in a statement issued here, also strongly condemned the attacked on the media persons and the staffs of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council by a group of non tribal at Iewduh. – By Our Reporter
