‘Peace & Nature’ exhibition

SHILLONG, OCT 19:Utsriji and Riti Academy for Visual Arts is holding a four day Art exhibition on the theme “Peace and Nature” at the Aurobindo Institute of Indian Culture, Shillong. The exhibition featuring, paintings, graphics and sculptures of various designs and hues on the theme by established artists from around the country and Meghalaya whose works have been exhibited and sold even internationally will be inaugurated by Deputy Chief Minister Rowell Lyngdoh who will be accompanied by Home Minister Roshan Warjri, Chairpesron, Meghalaya Employment and Resource Generation Council Dikanchi D Shira and Chief Secretary PBO Warjri on October 20, 2014 at 2 pm.

It will be open to the public thereafter from 2 pm till 7 pm everyday till October 23, 2014. On the last day an auction of the works will be held, of which a portion of the proceeds will go to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund towards the recent flood victims.

Besides dignitaries and other distinguished guests, special invitees include children from SOS Children’s Village, Bethany Society, inmates of Kripa Foundation and SANKER who are inclined to Art informed the organizers.

The exhibition is being supported by Meghalaya Information and Public Relations, Department of Art & Culture of Meghalaya, Police Officers Wives Association for Care, Don Bosco Group of Institutions and the Shillong Round Table who have taken the onus of conducting the auction.
