SHILLONG, SEPT 28: The students of Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU) were privileged to be given exposure on music and its growing music industry by the renowned city pianist Ms Pauline Warjri, who is the founder of the very popular Aroha Choir, during a music workshop held at the MLCU campus on Wednesday.

Ms Warhri has also written for solo piano, voice, choirs, jazz band and other instruments (Western and Eastern).

The workshop was attended by the students and faculty of the Department of Fine Atrs of MLCU.

This Interactive session gave the students platform to interact with Ms. Warjri, an experienced personality in the field of music in order to enhance knowledge, skills and understanding of the music industry and especially to enhance their vocal skills and to explore the possibilities for specialisation and career development in vocal music.

Ms. Warjri took sessions in the different factors that would help build a great vocalist which included breathing exercise, posture, exercising their vocal cords and the various muscles involve with singing like the tongue, lips, lips, tongue, jaw, cheeks, nose, diaphragm, throat. She also spoke at length about the importance of a balanced diet in order to be able to perform consistently.

Ms Warjri also did lengthy exercise on the importance of presentation and the skill sets for giving flawless performances.-By Our Reporter
