Two dacoits arrested

SHILLONG, MAY 30: Two members of a dacoit gang were arrested for their involvement in looting truck drivers and petrol pump in Mawiong area. They have been identified as Raju Biswa (36) and Chandra Prakash (36) both of Iew Mawlong, SP M Kharkrang said. He informed that the duos were caught by police while they were committing robbery. However, one managed to escape in a vehicle used by them. “They have been identified by victims as being involved in about 8 robbery cases,” he said.

According to the SP, the accused were earlier arrested for similar criminal acts.

8 mobile phone, 17 SIM card, Rs 8400, 2 used synringes and 1 khukri were seized from their possession.-By Our Reporter
