BGB hand over Khasi youth to BSF

SHILLONG, JULY 22: Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) today handed over one Ricky Marwein, who was abducted recently from a remote village along the Indo-Bangla border, to the Border Security Force in South Garo Hills District.

According to police, Mawein was apprehended by the police and BGB personnel in Bangladesh territory on Saturday.

He was handed over to the BSF at Baghmara, they said.

Marwein, a resident of Umsur village near Nongjri – an area rich in coal deposits – which is 25 kilometers away from Ranikor Block, was abducted by Bangladeshi miscreants from his residence on night of July 8.

Ranikor is 121 kilometers from here.

Earlier last year, one Dinar Syiemlieh, a coal merchant was also abducted and later released.

On the other hand, Dajied Syiemlieh (19) who was kidnapped by Bangladeshi miscreants about two months ago was later rescued and is still in the custody of Bangladesh government.
