The All India Junior Boys Selection Committee (U-19 Boys) of the BCCI has selected four Meghalaya cricketers to attend U-19 Boys National Cricket Academy (NCA) camps scheduled from 26 April to 22 May 2024 in different parts of the country.

The four are Angkit Tamang, Pushkar Raj Singh, Kishlay Vishlux and Shavian P Blah. The boys were selected on the basis of their good performances during the 2023-24 domestic tournaments, namely the Vinoo Mankad Trophy (one day) and Cooch Behar Trophy (multi-day). Meghalaya had qualified for the final of the latter’s Plate Group, finishing the season as runners-up.

The Cooch Behar Trophy was one of the first highlights of Meghalaya’s highly successful 2023-24 season.

Shavian and Angkit, both pace bowlers, took 26 and 25 wickets respectively in seven matches each but there were also some notable knocks with the bat, such as Pushkar’s century in the semifinals. Kishlay, meanwhile, made a name for himself with all-round contributions with the bat as well as his off-spin.

Shavian’s camp will be held in Mohali (Punjab), Kishlay’s in Rajkot (Gujarat), Pushkar’s in Salem (Tamil Nadu), while Angkit’s venue has yet to be decided.

The Meghalaya Cricket Association takes pride in congratulating these young boys for being selected for the NCA camps and wishes them all the best for their future.
