ANVC (B) claims of attacking GNLA camp

anvc vs gnlaShillong, November 13: The ANVC (B) militants attacked the GNLA-ULFA camp located at Rongmil Chiring in South Garo hills at 3 pm on Wednesday. A statement issued by the ANVC (B) said out of the ten GNLA militants, five of them were at the camp of whom three are seriously injured.

The statement claimed that the five GNLA militants moved towards Gandigri village earlier to kill one civilian and create chaos and distraction to the ongoing operation by the security agencies against them. The ANVC)B) said the militants went with two AKs and two Insas rifles which were snatched from the BSF personnel last week.

ANVC(B) alleged that the GNLA instead of buying weapons are out to procure weapons by attacking the armed forces and their sole intention is to unleash a reign of terror in Garo hills and part of Khasi hills by  randomly killing civilians and ambushing armed forces. Their attempts could be seen as a sign of desperation and greed for power.

According to ANVC(B), the  GNLA must not host ULFA and other organisations in Garo hills as these only mean selling out the  land, people and resources to foreign elements.

ANVC(B)  which is under a truce with state and central governments even asked GNLA to  refrain from terror strategy and stop attacking civilians, as these are not in line with demand for Garoland.

“Hohoe Gatimra, GNLA’s new Chairman and Sohan must understand there is no point fighting a losing battle as it will only scar and wound the Garo society,” the ANVC(B) said. – By Our Reporter
