Apex Bank’s 47th branch inaugurated

SHILLONG, SEPT 18: Meghalaya cooperation minister HDR Lyngdoh inaugurated the 47th branch of the Meghalaya Cooperative Apex Bank Ltd (MCAB) and the ATM at Demthring on Thursday.

While the new branch is the 47th branch of MCAB in the state, the ATM that has also been installed is the 6th in the line which has so far been installed an inaugurated.

The inauguration also saw the presence of legislator Jemino Mawthoh, who is the local MLA and the guest of honour in the function. MCAB chairman WK Kyndiah, who presided over the function, MCAB managing director DF War and other officials of the bank were also present.

Kyndiah  highlighted   the many strong features of the MCAB such as (a) democratically  elected Board of Directors since inception; (b)  Out-reach in all the 11 districts of the state and (c) Profit earning bank.

MCAB MD DF War briefly highlighted the performances and achievements of the bank in its 43 years of services to the people of the state.

Addressing the gathering as the chief guest cooperation minister HDR Lyngdoh congratulated the MCAB for its overall performance as a leader of  the cooperative sector in the state and called upon the officers and staff to ensure good, efficient and friendly  customer services that will ensure its ever growing popularity and lead it to grow from strength to strength.

Lyngdoh also assured all help and support of the state government in the cooperation department to the MCAB in its endeavour  to reach out  to the unbanked population of the state and make them financially included.

Legislator Jemino Mawthoh welcomed the opening of the Demthring branch in his constituency  and said that he looks forward to the MCAB playing  its role in the overall development of the  constituency  in particular  and  the state  in general.

Mawthoh also stressed the importance of the ‘Customer’ as an integral part of the banking business without whose presence the banks would not function.

Other speakers on the occasion included the Rangbah Shnongs of  Demthing and Madanriting besides Shri K.S. Lyngdoh, member of the Board of Directors of the Bank and H Lyngkhoi, Joint Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Meghalaya.
