Assam-Meghalaya CMs meeting held

SHILLONG, MAY 18: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma on Tuesday held consultations via video conference with his counterpart Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma.

The duo discussed cooperation and support which can be extended as the county is unitedly working to defeat Coronavirus.

Conrad thanked Himanta for the support being extended by Assam Govt to provide oxygen to Meghalaya.

Conrad has requested further cooperation from Assam, in case of any eventuality.

Himanta has assured Govt of Meghalaya to provide all necessary support to combat Covid.

The Assam CM also assured coordination from Assam and requested support from Govt of Meghalaya to ensure transportation of goods to not be affected due to lockdown in districts of Meghalaya.

Meghalaya CM had assured smooth transit of citizens and goods during the period.

“Assam will give 100 doses of Covaxin to Meghalaya and also D Type Cylinders.”, Conrad informed.

The Assam Government is also sending a proposal to Govt of India to make Assam the oxygen logistic hub for NE states.

The Assam CM has requested the Govt of Meghalaya to back the proposal.
