‘BJP’s bankruptcy of ideas’

SHILLONG, AUG 2: Chief Minister Mukul Sangma on Tuesday said the Congress is ready to fight and overcome the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s hidden agenda to weaken the party. “The BJP has a hidden agenda to weaken all other parties, which clearly shows that it wants to be a dictator,” Sangma told reporters at the sideline of the one-on- one meeting held with AICC leaders.

He also said, “We will fight that (hidden agenda) and we are confident we will overcome.”

Sangma was reacting to the recent claim made by the BJP to wipe out the Congress in the upcoming 2018 state elections.

Stating that the BJP’s agenda is ‘Congress-Mukt Bharat’, the CM however said, “But ours (Congress) is different – our agenda is to address the problems faced by the people.”

He also went on to add, “I pity the BJP for bankruptcy of idea.”

When asked about the infighting within the party, Sangma said, “We have a mechanism to overcome and all these things will fall in place… when we are on the same boat you don’t allow the boat to sink.”-By Our Reporter
