Body of 24-yr-old woman found

SHILLONG, DEC 5: The dead body of a 24-year-old woman was found near the banks of the Umshyrpi in the city on Tuesday.

Confirming this, SP (City) S Rynjah said the deceased has been identified as Diviya Sarki, a resident of Nongmynsong Dong Lumshyiap. Sarki was reportedly gone missing from her residence since November 30.

Asked, the SP said though the victim was suspected to have been raped, police however are still waiting for post mortem report.
