Burnt victim health stable

SHILLONG, NOV 18: Tea stall owner Bisheshwar Das, who was poured petrol by the masked men and was set on fire on Saturday in Bishupur bazaar, condition is “stable” informed East Khasi hills deputy commissioner Sanjay Goyal. He said doctors treating Das told him at 4 pm that his condition was stable as of then.  Goyal informed, “We are in constant touch with the hospital authority as well as the family members of the victim.”

On Saturday last, Das (50) sustained 50 per cent burn injuries after a group of three masked men entered his shop and set him ablaze after pouring petrol on him. He was taken to a Guwahati hospital from Woodland hospital on Sunday afternoon.   Goyal informed that the cost of Das treatment will be borne by the state government.

Meanwhile, police are yet to arrest those involved in gruesome attack on Das. East Khasi hills district SP M Kharkhrang said, “No one has been arrested so far but police are working to nab the culprits behind the attack.” – By Our Reporter
