SHILLONG, MAY 2: The state CID sleuths sealed the CMJ University located at Laitumkhrah late on Thursday night after it obtained an order from the district court. The court order came late night and the CID sleuths immediately sealed the university.
Simultaneous the four-member state CID team that had left for Guwahati has reportedly seized some documents relating to the CM Jha University from some reputed colleges in Guwahati. However details of the seizures and name of the colleges are still awaited.
The state CID had taken over investigation of the fraud committed by the CMJ University’s in awarding fake degrees to hundreds of students who had passed out of this controversial institute even as the current students who are pursuing studies in different streams are in complete disarray over their future.
The secretariat of the Meghalaya governor had filed a criminal case with the police against the CMJ University and its chancellor CM Jha for committing fraud in awarding fake degrees to its students. The police transfer the case to the CID.
Sources in the governor’s secretariat told this website that Governor RS Mooshahary- who is the visitor of the university- is closely observing the progress of the case.
A team of four CID officials had left for Assam in connection with the investigation and are said to be investigating the role of some of the officials of the oldest college located in Guwahati having connection with the CMJ University. The university chancellor CM Jha is said to be in hiding in Bihar.
The CMJ University scam got busted when Governor Mooshahary- the university visitor- raised objections on various aspects of the functioning of the university and also the appointment of the university chancellor CM Jha.
The governor’s secretariat had written a letter to the CMJ raising the issues of its functioning and had also directed the university to recall all the degrees it had awarded to the past students and also stop further recruitment of students.- By Our Reporter

1. why he approve such universities !
2. why he is not a regular visitor !
3. it is the responsibility of visitor or Mr. Gov to affiliate authentic univs. then why it was allocated status of pvt univ and where was the GOV from last 3 years !
4. is it true that one of Relative of Gov was working with Univ & was fired recently !
5. WHo will be Responsible for GOV’s One Sided Decision !
6. If any of Defamed Student commits suicide or take wrong decision due to point no 5, will gov gives answer to victim’s family !
Easy to Become Governor but very Difficult to become model person. take decision for the welfare of society not to kill the society
