SHILLONG, APR 18: The Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee,(MPCC) organized a “Protest Rally”, at  Congress Bhawan on Monday and strongly  condemned the undemocratic and unconstitutional methods of selectively targeting and  destabilizing the Congress-ruled governments in the country by BJP-led NDA union government.

The protest rally was organised following the directives given by the All India Congress Committee, (AICC).

The protest rally was led by MPCC president DD Lapang deputy chief minister, party ministers, MLAs,  MDCs, MPCC office bearers, presidents & members of DCCs & BCCs, chiefs and  members of frontal organisations and other members and party’s well-wishers.

Anti BJP slogans were chanted waving placards condemning the unconstitutional and undemocratic methods of selectively targeting, one Congress government after the other, and installing BJP governments by proxy. The members warned Prime Minister Narendra Modi to desist from such attempts.

Addressing the gathering Lapang wondered when the entire country had been observing the  125th Birth Anniversary of  the framer of the Indian Constitution Dr. BR Ambedkar, Narendra Modi  and his cohorts  indulged in unleashing the biggest assault to the Constitution by  selectively dislodging one Congress government after the other.

He said, ‘Congress being biggest political party in the country, there are bound to be differences of opinions, but these would not lead to burning of the Congress house’.

He asserted, ‘Congress government in the state is stable and the Congress family is strongly united’. He asserted that the people of India are aware of the noble contributions of the party to the nation, despite the false propaganda systematically spearheaded by the BJP.-By Our Reporter
