COVID-19: 136 new cases, 4 deaths

SHILLONG, SEPT 7: The state on Tuesday reported 4 COVID-19 deaths, taking the total death toll to 1,333 in the state.

 

According to Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, three were reported from East Khasi Hills district and one from Ri Bhoi district.

 

Dr War said the state has also detected 136 new COVID-19 cases.

 

These include 63 in East Khasi Hills, 16 West Khasi Hills, 15 West Garo Hills, 21 Ri Bhoi, 13 West Jaintia Hills, 2 East Garo Hills, 1 North Garo Hills, 2 East Jaintia Hills, 0 South Garo Hills, 3 South West Khasi Hills and 0 South West Garo Hills.

 

Dr War also informed that 307 persons have recovered from the viral infection.

 

Of these, 132 East Khasi Hills, 5 West Garo Hills, 47 West Jaintia Hills, 77 West Khasi Hills, 3 East Garo Hills, 0 North Garo Hills, 1 South Garo Hills, 4 South West Garo Hills, 7 East Jaintia Hills, 12 Ri Bhoi and 19 South West Khasi Hills.

 

So far, the state has detected a total of 77,280 COVID-19 cases out of which 1,929 are active cases, 74,018 recovered and 1,333 deaths.

 

With 952 active COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, that includes state capital Shillong, is the worst affected district in the state, followed by West Khasi Hills with 370cases and Ri Bhoi with 197.

 

There are 149 in West Jaintia Hills, 85 West Garo Hills, 109 South West Khasi Hills, 34 East Jaintia Hills, 6 North Garo Hills, 18 East Garo Hills, 5 South West Garo Hills and 4 South Garo Hills.
