COVID-19: 193 new cases, 1 death

SHILLONG, SEPT 3: The state on Friday reported one Covid death, taking the toll to 1,323 in the state.

 

According to Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, the case was reported from West Khasi Hills district.

 

Dr War said the state has also detected 193 new COVID-19 cases.

 

These include 138 in East Khasi Hills, 13 West Khasi Hills, 7 West Garo Hills, 11 Ri Bhoi, 6 West Jaintia Hills, 3 East Garo Hills, 1 North Garo Hills, 8 East Jaintia Hills, 0 South Garo Hills, 6 South West Khasi Hills and 0 South West Garo Hills.

 

Dr War also informed that 172 persons have recovered from the viral infection.

 

Of these, 88 East Khasi Hills, 22 West Garo Hills, 16 West Jaintia Hills, 15 West Khasi Hills, 1 East Garo Hills, 2 North Garo Hills, 6 South Garo Hills, 0 South West Garo Hills, 6 East Jaintia Hills, 14 Ri Bhoi and 2 South West Khasi Hills.

 

So far, the state has detected a total of 76,504 COVID-19 cases out of which 2,295 are active cases, 72,886 recovered and 1,323 deaths.

 

With 1,253 active COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, that includes state capital Shillong, is the worst affected district in the state, followed by West Khasi Hills with 309 cases and Ri Bhoi with 249.

 

There are 183 in West Jaintia Hills, 78 West Garo Hills, 120 South West Khasi Hills, 45 East Jaintia Hills, 7 North Garo Hills, 22 East Garo Hills, 19 South West Garo Hills and 4 South Garo Hills.
