COVID-19: 93 new cases, 2 deaths

SHILLONG, OCT 12: The state on Tuesday recorded two more COVID-19 related deaths, mounting the number of fatalities to 1,425 in the state.

 

According to Director of Health Services (MI) Dr Aman War, one each was reported from East Khasi Hills district and West Khasi Hills district.

 

Dr War said the state has also detected 93 new COVID-19 cases. These include 47 in East Khasi Hills, 37 West Khasi Hills, 5 Ri Bhoi and 1 each in East Garo Hills, East Jaintia Hills, West Garo Hills and West Jaintia Hills.

 

Dr War also informed that 122 persons have recovered from the viral infection.

 

Of these, 63 are from East Khasi Hills, 34 West Jaintia Hills, 13 West Khasi Hills, 3 South West Khasi Hills, 2 East Jaintia Hills, 2 Ri Bhoi, 1 North Garo Hills and 1 West Garo Hills.

 

So far, the state has detected a total of 82,580 COVID-19 cases out of which 1,021 are active cases, 80,134 recovered and 1,425 deaths.

 

With 533 active COVID-19 cases, East Khasi Hills, that includes state capital Shillong, is the worst affected district in the state, followed by West Khasi Hills with 313 cases and West Jaintia Hills 78.

 

There are 46 in Ri Bhoi, 17 West Garo Hills, 15 South West Khasi Hills, 9 East Garo Hills, 5 East Jaintia Hills, 2 South West Garo Hills, 2 South Garo Hills and 1 North Garo Hills.
