Rangdajied hopes to do well against Dempo SC

SHILLONG, OCT 1: With two consecutive losses, the Shillong based Rangdajied United FC who made their I-Leaggue debut this season is raring to leave the defeats behind as the team prepares to take on Dempo on Friday at the JN stadium. Rangadjied would be looking to take advantage of the home turf and the local crowd who obviously will be rooting for the local team against Dempo.

Rangdajied United FC coach Santosh Kashyap has asked the club fans to be patience even as he said that he has introduced an attacking game while the players are used to short passes. He was confident that his team will adapt themselves to the new strategy he introduced and also get the hang of playing in the I-League as they are a bunch of talented local players.

Kashyap told reporters during a media conference on Tuesday, “I request the fans to have patience. We are a new team and are in the building stages, we have talented local players who are performing to their capabilities.”

Kashyap, however, felt that foreign players are the “cutting edge” in the in I-League.  He said the team’s foreign recruits have joined late and they are not fully match fit but once they are used to the game he was confident that they will play a big role in lifting the performance of the team.

Kashyap also informed that his team is trying to improve with every game with the intention of remaining in the I-League in the next season. He, however, admitted that the level of play in the I-League is higher than the second division and his players are getting used to the new standard.

Kashyap also revealed as he had introduced an attacking game the players who are adapt at playing passes is gradually getting used to the new style.

While Kashyap said he is satisfied with the defence and midfield play of his team but the front line still lack the teeth needed to win matches

Rangdajied United captain Eugeneson Lyngdoh said that the local players in the team are eager to perform well in front of home crowd. He said, “Hopefully they will bring out what is expected of them, the best,”

The Meghalaya Football Association (MFA) vice president B Diengdoh meanwhile informed that the sale of ticket for the Rangdajied United’s Dempo SC game will start from Wednesday afternoon.

The tickets have been priced at Rs 80, Rs 100, Rs 200 and Rs 400. The tickets will be available in the SSA counters in Polo Grounds and also in leading store in the city and other parts of the state.- By Our Reporter
