Elephant kill man

TURA, JUNE 26: A wild elephant killed a man identified as Warson Sangma, at Gangbanga village, near Dalu in West Garo hills in the wee hours on Thursday. Thirty two years old Sangma was working as lower primary school teacher and came out to see a herd of three elephant, which included a calf in the neigbourhood.

Gangbanga village is along Indo-Bangladesh village, about 48 km from Tura. Police informed that Sangma was attacked, when he was trying to locate the elephants at the neighbourhood.  Police said, “It was dark, so he did not possibly see the elephants approaching him.” – From Our Correspondent
