SHILLONG, SEPT 26:East Jaintia hills police seized huge cache of explosive on Thursday after receiving tip off . At around 6 am police intercepted a Sumo bearing registration number ML04B 4487 containing the explosives.
Two elderly women identified as Lucy Pamai (50) and Wangdi Pamai (40) hailing from Dimapur, were also arrested.The explosive recovered contained 400 dynamite (Gelatin Stick), 48 boxes of detonator’s, containing hundred boxes of fuse wire.
After interrogation, it was revealed that they have bought the explosive from Jalaphet Pyrdung at the cost of 47 thousand. Police informed that the two women said that the explosive were meant for the road construction. According to the two women they bought the explosive from one Pranai Kumar Purkayasha of Jalaphet Pyrdung village. Later in the afternoon the police also arrested him.- By Our Reporter
