Five militants arrested

TURA, JUNE 3: Meghalaya police arrested five militants of A’chik Matgrik Elite Force (AMEF) from Dainadubi in North Garo Hills yesterday.“Acting on source information about the cadres waiting at 7^th mile in Dainadubi, our team launched an operation and made the arrest”, said Ramesh Singh, North Garo Hills SP.

Police have seized 25 demand notes signed by the outfit’s commander, a bolero vehicle, seven mobile sets and an amount of Rs. 8000. The arrested cadres are – Chesrang Marak, 22, Jelbirth Sangma, 24, Salnang M Sangma, 18, Sathun Sangma, 21 and Grenden Marak, 27.– From Our Correspondent
