SHILLONG, APR 25: Two Garo National Liberation Army (GNLA) militants surrendered without arms before the police in East Garo hills district on Monday. Simple Ch Momin alias Saljipa and Clever Ch Marak alias Dompa, who both hails from Dorengkigre surrendered at Williamnagar police state, IGP (Law & Order/Operation) GHP Raju informed.
He said that the duos were recruited to help the GNLA commander in chief (C-in-C) Sohan D Shira in providing logistic support for him as well as to spy on police teams entering Durama. Saljepa is responsible for procuring black SIM cards through agents from Dimapur and pass-on to Sohan and other GNLA top cadres.
He disclosed that a lot of people from Dimapur get pre activated SIM from the dealers of various mobile service providers and sell them in bulk at Rs 200 to Rs 250/- per SIM card. He also revealed that the militant had supplied huge number of black SIM cards to GNLA during all these months.-By Our Reporter
