Govt to take up ILP with Centre

SHILLONG, MAR 25: Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong on Friday said that the  state government will take up with the Centre all pending issues including the demand for implementation of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) in Meghalaya.

 

“We will try our best to discuss with the Union home minister Amit Shah whatever pending issues that are there,” Tynsong told reporters.

 

The pending issues include ILP, inclusion of Khasi and Garo languages in the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution of India.

 

On the alleged illegal coal mining and transportation, the deputy chief minister said that whatever direction given by the Meghalaya High Court, all these issues are in place adding that the Mining and Geology department and other concerned departments are taking care of the matter.
