Guv visits AR

SHILLONG, MAY 8: The Governor of Meghalaya Banwarilal Purohit visited the Assam Rifles Headquarters at Laitkor, Shillong on Sunday.

During the visit, the Governor paid homage to the martyrs at the War Memorial and visited the Assam Rifles Museum. He also addressed the Officers, Junior Commissioned Officers and other ranks of Directorate General Assam Rifles at the Assam Rifles Rising Sun Sports Complex wherein he complimented Assam Rifles for its exceptional all round performance and for rendering yeoman service in the most challenging and inhospitable terrain of the North East.

He exhorted them to continue the good work of maintaining peace and tranquillity in the North East Region.

The Governor also interacted with troops and enquired about their wellbeing and nature of duty.
