SHILLONG, AUG 14: On its 26th years of its foundation day on Wednesday the proscribed Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC) said that its door is still wide open for the government if it is serious enough to initiate talks to resolve the indifferences.
The HNLC was formed in August 14, 1987.
HNLC general secretary Cherterfield Thangkhiew said in a statement issued on Wednesday, “Our doors are still wide open, if the government is serious enough to initiate dialogue with the outfit to discuss and resolve indifferences across the table,”
Thangkhiew expressed the HNLC willingness for dialogue provided the government refrain from putting any conditions. But he also lamented sayingthat the government is taking the issue of dialogue with the outfit lightly as the issue is pending for a very long time.
Thangkhiew“ said, The government is buying time as it is hungry for more power and wealth and they don’t really seems to have time to look into the issues concerning the state as a whole.”Thangkhiew also urged Khasi and Jaintia regions region citizens not to fall for false promises of the politicians.- By Our Reporter
