I am not cheap, nobody can buy me: MPCC chief

SHILLONG, SEP 1: Congress chief Vincent H Pala on Thursday said he cannot be bought by other political parties.

“So many have approached us but we are not so cheap. I am fighting for the Congress. I am not so cheap to be purchased or to be bought by anybody,” Pala said.

The Shillong MP said that opponents will say that Pala will run away from the Congress but these people are telling lies and will remain as liars.

“There is no denying the fact that as soon  as I became MPCC president, Mukul Sangma and his group left the party and All India Trinamool Congress was very excited. AITC is now divided into how many trinamools, some have joined this side and some have joined that side.”

The MPCC chief said that lots of people at the grassroot level have shifted from the NPP to the Congress especially in Garo Hills. “But the only difference is that they (NPP) are very good at marketing in social media,” he said.

He said the NPP may get all the big guys however that will not ensure victory in the election.

“This is because when we fight elections, I don’t believe that only leaders can make an impact but I think the voters and everyone is equally important,” he said.
