Garoland movement

TURA, MAR 26: The movement for separate Garoland, carved out of Meghalaya is set to take new height on March 30 at Tikrikilla in West Garo Hills. The rally is being spearheaded by Garo Hills State Movement Committee (GHSMC), which has been pursuing the cause for the past three years.

The rally will begin from Tikrikilla playground around 11 am.

In a statement issued on Saturday, assistant general secretary of the GHSMC Pamosh Ch. Sangma said, “The movement for inclusive Garoland] will continue, unless and until it is achieved. We will continue to demand for Garoland, which is our birthright”.

The release said that the rally is aimed to create awareness amongst people, village chiefs, youths, officers and all communities that
