The Joint Action Committee (JAC) comprising NEHUTA, NEHUNSA and NEHUSU on Friday staged a protest and demanded that salary paid to the technical officer cum senior consultant Rohit Prasad should be recovered from the salary of the NEHU vice chancellor Prof PS Shukla.

The protest was held in front of the VC’s office. According to the JAC, not a single penny should come out from the NEHU account.

The JAC has been demanding the immediate termination of the appointment of Rohit Prasad on the ground that it was “illegal”.

Chairman of the JAC Prof Lakhon Kma said the salary paid to Rohit Prasad for the last ten months should be recovered from the VC’s own remuneration.

He also announced the decision of the JAC to set a 10-day ultimatum to the VC to publicly release the termination letter of Rohit Prasaid. Prof Kma alleged that the VC had deliberately removed all ordinances, rules and regulations of NEHU from the official website.

Meanwhile, Prof Kma threatened that the JAC will intensify their agitation from November 13, if their demands are not fulfilled.
