Joel brace help Langsning beat Rangdajied 4-2

langsningBANGALORE, APRIL 12: Langsning FC came from behind to beat ten-men Rangdajied United FC by four goals to two in the1st leg tie of the 2nd Division I-League at the Bangalore Football Stadium here on Friday.  With this win, they have collected seven points while Rangdajied have four points.

Rangdajied struck as early as in the fourth minute of the game when its Korean striker Shin Hojun’s well measured shot from 30 yards found the back of the net. They doubled the score in the 23rd minute when Nagen Tamang placed a Bansharai Sunn cross into the net.

In the 33rd minute of the game, referee Arun Pillai of SSCB awarded a spot kick in favour of Langsning when he caught E. Abocha Singh bringing down Joel Sunday Ayeni inside the box. Joel made no mistake with is kick, placing the ball inside the net, thus reducing the margin 1-2.

After the breather, Langsning put repeated pressure on their Shillong rival and equalised in the 61st minute when skipper Daniel Bidemi Ayen headed home a Moirangthem Ashok Singh’s.

Rangdajied suffered a major blow when in the 68th minute the referee gave marching orders to En-Loveday Okechokwu after being booked twice. Loveday got his second booking after he brought down substitute L. Nabachandra Singh in the danger area. Joel tamely lobbed the resultant free kick straight into the hands of the rival custodian Surjay K. Pariyar.

After being reduced to ten men, Rangdajied replaced striker Nagen Tamang with defender Manitombi Singh, but the reinforced defense failed to check Langsning forwards. Langsning went into the lead for the first time in the game in the 84th minute when Daniel tabbed R. Vanlalnun Dunga’s cross ball and Joel completed the tally in the 88th minute of the game when he went pass three rival defenders and coolly placed the ball home.
