BANGALORE, MAR 31: Mohammedan SC was held to a goalless draw by their Kolkata rival Bhawanipore FC in a 2nd Division I League first league tie at the Bangalore Football Stadium on Sunday.
The black and white outfit had the better share of ball possession, but they could not translate that into goals as the Bhawanipore defense line stood tall.
Lead by Brazilian striker J. Marco Baretto Ramires, a one-time star of the Kolkata maidan, Bhawanipore FC, however, made little impression in the final quarter of the pitch.
In fact, Baretto himself had a poor match, barely managing to touch the ball on three or four occasions before he was substituted in the middle of the second half.
On Tuesday, Shillong’s Rangdajied United FC will take on Bhawanipore FC at 1: 45 p.m., while Mumbai Tigers will clash with Southern Samity in the second match of the day. By Suraj Joshi
